At
Caffe Moderne, we're proud to say that we serve
the best coffee in the city.
Before we poured our first cup, we did our
homework to make sure that it would be. We
learned that the coffee bean is actually a
thin-skinned member of the cherry family, and
that a major factor in the quality of the bean
is, generally speaking, the altitude at which it
was grown: there's the robusto, a bean of
lesser quality, and the arabica, a
superior bean grown at higher altitudes. We
picked the arabica.
Next
we researched the countries of production,
because there are a lot of different countries
out there where coffee is grown. And what we
learned is that in the whole, wide world of
coffee production, two countries consistently
lead the pack for the overall quality of their
beans: Costa Rica and Ethiopia. There are less
expensive options to consider when mixing an
exclusive house blend, but do you know what? We
picked the Costa Rican and the Ethiopian anyway.
Go
ahead and stick your nose deep into a cup of
Caffe Moderne's secret blend (it's a secret
because there's a third bean we're not telling
you about: sue us!), and you can pick up a hint
of cherry in the incredibly rich aroma. We're
talking about delicious coffee here, a cup that
can sit for two hours and not get bitter, a
blend that holds its flavor piping hot or ice
cold. And you don't have to take our word for
it, because in the few months we've been open,
we've already picked up the awards to
back our claims.
Did
we mention our espresso?
But
the best thing would be for you to find out
about our coffee for yourself. We have some
brewing right now.
